This traditional colonial inn transports you back in time, for a relaxing and memorable stay. The original part of the house was built in 1854 with a seamless addition added in 1987. Run as a B&B since 1985, owners Elaine & Leo Klevens will make your stay a warm and welcoming experience. Eight traditionally appointed guest rooms await your comfort and privacy. All rooms have private baths, AC, Wi-Fi, period antiques and some have fireplaces. Two common areas have fireplaces, and one boasts our 12’ long stone Rumford fireplace with stone used from the original foundation. Area attractions such as Goodspeed Opera House, Essex Steam Train, Gillette Castle, and the Florence Griswold Museum are all minutes away from The Riverwind Inn. Area restaurants and shopping boast excellence. A gourmet breakfast is served each morning in one of our two candle lit dining rooms. Individually served, you can relax and join in great conversations and meet new friends. Suggestions for day’s events are always available from the Innkeepers.
