This truly elegant three story Federalist style, 1840's original Mormon Home, has been exceptionally maintained for the past 160+ years. With many original doors, floors, banister, and details, this scenically situated home is surrounded with gardens and views of the Mississippi River from almost every room. Within walking distance to all restored attractions in Nauvoo, your stay at the Ellis Sanders House will be unique and peaceful.

Honeymooners have discovered us as well as couples celebrating special occassions, for we serve candlelight dessert in the evening and full gourmet breakfast in the morning. With fresh flowers daily throughout the house, luxurious appointments and attention to detail, we look forward to sharing this historic home with our guests. For the convience of our guests we can accomodate 6 adults -14 years and older. German, Japanese and some Spanish is also spoken in the Ellis Sanders House Inn. Special occasion gift packages can be arranged as well as horse drawn carriage rides. We look forward in sharing this wonderful home with you.
