| In the National Register of Historic Places, Phipps Inn is an outstandingly beautiful example of delicate Queen Anne Victorian architecture. The mansion offers fluted pilasters, wrap-around porches, gabled dormers, and an octagonal tower that rises three stories. Located on an historic street in Wisconsin's St. Croix Valley, an appropriate Victorian decor compliments the interior's oak and maple woodwork. Guest rooms and suites offer romantic furishings and amenities such as brass, canopy or four-poster feather beds. All feature large whirlpool tubs as well as fireplaces. There are a variety of rooms to wander into and enjoy including a music room and a billiards room. Four course breakfasts are served in your room, the dining room or on the front porch. Antique shops, galleries, boutiques and a good selection of restaurants are within walking distance as are parks and the St. Croix River. The Octagon House, a museum in a 1855 house is across the street. |
