Located on the eastern slope of Mount Wachusett in Princeton, Massachusetts, this elegant Federal Mansionhouse was originally built as a private residence in 1835. Operated as a tavern and boarding house for Harvard professors and students between 1870 and 1889, Fernside was purchased in 1890 by ""The Girl's Vacation House Association"" of Boston and served as a summer vacation house for working women for over 100 years. Opened in 1996 as Fernside Bed & Breakfast, this gracious house has been carefully restored to its original grandeur.

As our guests, you are invited to share in the peace and beauty of this historic mansion. Fernside offers breathtaking views of Boston and Mount Wachusett, the second highest mountain in Massachusetts. The eight fireplaces, numerous sitting rooms, and porches provide guests with the opportunity to renew themselves or enjoy a romantic retreat. Each of the spacious guest rooms is elegantly decorated with antiques or period reproductions, oriental rugs, down comforters, and a fully tiled private bathroom. Many guest rooms are available with fireplaces and four poster queen beds. A well appointed two-room suite on the first floor is handicapped accessible.

Fernside is approximately an hour's drive from Boston, Providence and Hartford.
