Located just outside Charleston, SC, on the bluffs of the Ashley River, the Inn at Middleton Place offers relaxing accommodations in an atmosphere of unsurpassed natural beauty.
A recipient of the American Institute of Architects highest national award, the Inn's design is a contemporary counterpoint to the earlier architecture of adjacent 18th-century Middleton Place, a National Historic Landmark, encompassing America's oldest landscaped gardens.
In addition to gracious sleeping-room accommodations, with scenic views and wood-burning fireplaces, guests of the Inn enjoy a wide range of educational experiences. The Middleton Place Gardens, House Museum and Stableyards tell the story of one of America's most important families and the history of a thriving South Carolina rice plantation. The Inns Outdoor Center's naturalists facilitate daily guided- and self-guided walking, biking and kayaking tours of the woods, marsh and river.
