One of Canada's largest and oldest privately-owned Victorian mansions, open to the public year round as an elegant bed & breakfast. Atop the west hill of Owen Sound, overlooking Georgian Bay of the Great Lakes and the historic harbour city below. Spacious Queen rooms with ensuite bath and fireplace, ready for lighting. Once a maternity hospital for the wealthy with over 2,000 live births being recorded here, this 7500 sq. ft. 1872 edifice is the ideal site for small weddings, corporate meetings, reunions or simply a peaceful romantic getaway. Music Room with a 1902 Baby Grand piano and Victorian pump organ, and Sitting room with 36" TV and fireplace, all for guests only. Leaded stained-glass windows, Victorian decor, vintage antiques, and memorabilia. Grand hallway staircase winding 45 feet high. A splendid breakfast is served in the opulent style of the formal estate dining room. Allergy friendly home (no smoking, no pets, hardwood floors throughout).
