Maplecroft is a comfortable Victorian home in central Vermont and has three guest bedrooms each with an exclusive bath and a handmade quilt on every bed.

Built in 1887 by granite sculptor George Mackie, Maplecroft is short walk from downtown Barre, the granite center of the world. Mr. Mackie was among the first of many immigrants from Scotland who made their homes in 19th century Barre in order to bring their expertise to the local quarries. A statue honoring Robert Burns overlooks the town from a knoll just below Maplecroft and serves as a reminder of Barre's Caledonian heritage.

It is a short drive to the state capital in Montpelier or Northfield, the home of Norwich University. Skiers may find our lodgings a quiet alternative to the inns near Stowe or Sugarbush.
