What Mariposa Ranch is NOT is a Bed and Breakfast like others, with rooms right next to each other in one building, offering less privacy than desired. What Mariposa Ranch IS is a configuration of several houses and cottages, most historically significant and all lovingly restored and furnished. Most accommodations are suites or two-room cottages. All are furnished in fine antiques and offer our guests the utmost in comfort and privacy.
Accommodations include an 1900 Texas farmhouse, an authentic 1820 log cabin, an 1836 Greek Revival home, a real ranch hands?bunkhouse complete with jacuzzi-for-two, cottages nestled in Live Oaks, a stately Texas Plantation home and a turn-of-the century farm house where guests are served breakfast each morning. All rooms, cottages and suites offer private baths.
Located on a 100 acre working ranch that hugs the La Bahia Trail, you?l share Mariposa Ranch with cattle, dogs, horses, lightening bugs and grasshoppers. Here you can tuck away your cell phone and rock on your porch, pondering all who have moved along the great trail before you-LaSalle, Davy Crockett, Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and William B. Travis, to name a few.
Mariposa Ranch offers a very special package, an ?nchanted Evening? It includes fresh flowers (usually roses), a very special game for two, champagne, chocolates and candles. A special made-to-order gourmet dinner or ?icnic basket?can be prepared for your enjoyment. We can arrange a massage to be given by our on-call masseuse.
But there? nothing you have to do. Imagine! All rooms are purposely devoid of telephones (there? one in the main house, if you must), but all rooms and suites have satellite televisions, some with VCR?. You definitely have our permission to enjoy large doses of the hills and valleys that are seemingly endless, relaxing by your own fireplace (perhaps with your own gourmet dinner, ?icnic basket?or ?nchanted Evening?package). And we invite you to take your time soaking in your claw-foot tub or jacuzzi-for-two, or just grab a hammock or rocker on your porch or the veranda at the main house, keeping time with the music of the past.
