Rated 5.0: Marcel's Creative Exchange is located in the heart of Amsterdam and has three trams that stop at either end of the block, so you can get anywhere in no time. Tucked in between a shoarma restaurant and a clothing store, across the street from a Ben & Jerry's and an Etos (American equivalent of a SavOn), and down the street from Leidseplein, you really can't beat this location. Amsterdam is small so everything is within walking distance. So on warm days you walk, on cold days you take the tram. After a day about town you are welcomed into the warm, cozy, and fastidously clean home of Marcel von Woekem. Even the toilets have lovely antiques to view. Within my first hour with Marcel he had provided me with a hand-drawn map of Amsterdam and advise on what to see and what to avoid. My room (the Style Room) was lovely with urns from Italy and wall hangings from Egypt all accented with a modern fireplace for the cool evenings. I love Marcel and his home and would recommend it to anyone wishing to experience a true canal home in lovely Amsterdam.
