Buckhorn Inn

Current rating: (5.0 out of 5.0)

Rated 5.0: As a seasoned, international traveler, I can say without reservation, that the Buckhorn Inn provides the ultimate in hospitality. Pristine accommodation in heavenly surroundings, exquisite and spacious grounds, attentive yet unobtrusive staff, and food worthy of any 5 star restaurant. My husband and I have found our retreat. We come here to rejuvenate, knowing that our every need has been anticipated. From the porch with the breathtaking view of the mountain where we sip our pre dinner drinks, to the labyrinth one discovers on the wooded trail, all is ours while we are here. For those who need to venture out, the Buckhorn Inn is close to many natural places of interest. However, if you want everything you could need in one place, The Buckhorn Inn is that place. It is a place of serenity and relaxation that leaves you wanting to return. Which is what we do, often! Julie Hagerty

Rated 5.0: The Buckhorn Inn couldn? be more of a contrast to the honky-tonk nature of Gatlinberg. Our stay at the Buckhorn was the perfect celebration for our 35th wedding anniversary. Located in the heart of the Arts and Crafts district, we found several quality studios and galleries within walking distance of the Inn. Although all the rooms in Cottage 1 were very comfortable, the screened porch with its view of Mt. LeConte was magnificent. Breakfasts were imaginative, dinners elegant. The nature trail was a delight, complete with nesting mute swans and pileated woodpeckers. Our hosts were gracious and we felt that when they said they hoped we? come back, it was sincere.

Rated 5.0: The Buckhorn Inn is truly an escape from the everyday. A quiet, secluded location, the inn is a place to unwind and re-charge the batteries. The gracious owners, John and Lee Mellor, take care of each guest on a personal level. Often, you will see them serving at either breakfast or dinner. The food is fabulous. We have stayed several times at the Buckhorn and have never been disappointed in every aspect. You can't go wrong with whatever accommodation you choose -- the cottages are slightly more expensive but afford more privacy, and the rooms in the Inn are also well appointed and feel private as well. The Inn is not far from Gatlinburg, but you might be enjoying yourself so much here that you might not want to leave!

Rated 5.0: I just want to thank you and the total staff for your generous hospitality for the time my wife and I were at Buckhorn last Thursday and Friday. The communication, accommodations, surroundings and breakfast were superb! We could not have had a better place to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. This was our first time there, but we will be back for sure. You have got a new customer!

Rated 5.0: Thanks again for a delightfully restful and pleasant weekend. The food was outstanding, as usual, and we came home so happy to have spent that time at your inn. I hope you realize what a wonderful respite you have for those of us who are weary and fatigued from difficult occupations. Retirement definitely beckons. In the meantime, we have you.

Rated 5.0: My wife and I picked the Buckhorn Inn for our 10th Wedding Anniversary getaway, and we were astounded at how wonderful our first stay at the Inn was. There is something on the edge of "magical" about the Buckhorn. We were far enough away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Gatlinburg to envelope our senses with a sense of peace, quiet, and serenity; yet the Inn is close enough if you decide to venture into town. Don't be surprised if you choose to cancel your shopping to remain in the quiet surroundings of the Inn! Our hosts and Innkeepers, John & Lee, treated us wonderfully. Our cottage was beautifully decorated and "warm" enough to call it a home away from home. The views of Mt. LeConte and adjacent highpoints are spectacular. And the food! The food is exquisite. We have finally found our "private" getaway for years to come.
