Gabriel's at the Ashbrooke Inn

Current rating: (5.0 out of 5.0)

Rated 5.0: It is very hard to top Gabriel? in many respects. You simply cannot be in a better location to visit Provincetown. The accommodations are superb and the ambience is just right. We had a great time meeting with other travelers in the morning over our excellent breakfast. My husband and I will recommend this place highly to our friends; I urge you to give it a try. Rated 4.5: We found Gabriel's two years ago and will only stay with them in P-town every time we go back. It is beautiful, charming and very family friendly. We love it immensely!

Rated 5.0: We just returned from a really wonderful stay at Gabriel's. The buildings are well kept and tasteful, not overly country or modern in decorating style. The courtyard is beautiful. The breakfast is generous. They were friendly with our young son, but we didn't feel like we were staying at Disneyland- it was still an adult environment. The inn is big enough so you don't feel claustrophobic, which has happened to us at smaller places. The management was present, but not overly involved. We stayed in Willow- which was big, well decorated, had a small kitchenette, and a gorgeous jacuzzi tub/shower. Lastly, the inn could not be in a better location- very close to Commercial Street, but not right in the middle of the noise. We hope to come back very soon!

Rated 5.0: My wife and I loved Gabriel's and look forward to returning to PTown primarily because of our experience at Gabriels. The B&B is inviting, cozy and very clean. Hostesses Elizabeth and Elizabeth are meticulous in their care of each and every guest and the staff was top notch. Breakfast each morning is an event to look forward to and if you like warm homemade cookies, look no further. Did I mention we chose to get married in the outdoor garden because of it's beauty and intimacy?

Rated 5.0: This was our first stay at Gabriel's and the service and accomodations far exceeded our expectations. Our lovely hosts Elizabeth and Elizabeth surprised us and upgraded our room upon arrival as well as generously provided champagne on ice for our anniversary! The suite included a magnificient bathroom, heavenly bed, romantic fireplace and elegant furnishings. Our room was bright and sunny, clean and private. The courtyard gardens are welcoming and relaxing with perfect night lighting. The pride of ownership at Grabriel's is evident and I thank them for opening their hearts and home to us. The history of Gabriel's is most interesting and makes us proud to be guests. We will be back!

Rated 5.0: What a great find! We are still talking about how much we liked this place! We planned a last minute dash to P-town to catch the whale migration. We found Gabriels and stayed for the weekend. It was perfect! Too many amenities to list here, just visit their web site - all of it is for real. I loved having a delicious breakfast in the Great Room, and we enjoyed conversatons with everyone. It was a perfect combination of everything we look for when we get away.

Rated 5.0: Dear Elizabeth and Elizabeth, Thank you so much for a wonderful visit Saturday night to your fabulous Inn. We had a terrific time and plan to spend an evening later this week with our calendar so we can plan our next trip to PTOWN. We haven't stopped talking about how terrific everything was: the room, the bed, THE BATHROOM (we're a bit water logged...) the breakfast, and of course the fine hospitality. First class all the way... It was Dave's birthday weekend and he has said over and over how this was his best birthday ever (and he's had MANY to compare with...) We took a tour of the other rooms before we left (all gorgeous) but we still love "our room," Laurel the best. It is truly spectacular. We contemplated over coffee Sunday morning calling in sick to work on Monday so we could spend another day. We simply did not want to leave. Once again, thanks for a great time! We'll be back soon, and we'll spread the word to our friends about your wonderful Inn. Best, Tim, Dave, and Tucker

Rated 5.0: Gabriel? at the Ashbrooke Inn As a celebration of my husband and my 60th birthdays, we wanted to take the whole family, including kids, grandkids and dogs to Provincetown, Cape Cod. By chance, we found Gabriel? online and we stayed there recently for 4 days. It exceeded all our already high expectations. The Inn was so lovely and comfortable and had warmth and charm and every amenity you could possibly imagine. The rooms were beautifully appointed, spacious and had free internet service, flat screen tv?, multiple head showers, refrigerators, dog bowls, and so much more. The main gathering room was cozy and my daughter commented, as we were watching a late night football game together there, that she felt like she was in one of our own living rooms. The delicious breakfasts were plentiful with a lot of variety. And there were always fresh baked yummy cookies and iced tea and coffee out for anytime snacks. When we went to the beach, we were provided with beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas. The grandkids were provided with cribs that made it so much easier for my daughter not to have to bring those with her. There was also an extensive library of children? books and enough dvd? to satisfy anyone? taste, not to mention lots of games. The Innkeepers are such lovely women who were available and helpful for all of our needs. They truly made our stay there so memorable and very special. I will never forget our time there and would highly recommend Gabriel?!

Rated 5.0: A weekend away from home and work is always a treat, but a weekend spent at Gabriel's is a real pleasure. My husband and I recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. Through a combination of internet search and dumb luck, we found Gabriel's. Each of the rooms is unique, reflecting the personality of it's namesake. We stayed in "Laurel", a large, two room suite with a supercomfortable king sized bed, a sitting area, a well stocked kitchen, a luxurious bath, and 2 gas fireplaces. My favorites were the many decorating touches, such as hand made needlework on the walls, or The Mafia Cookbook in the kitchen! For the tech-savy , the flat screen TV's with DVD players, and the iHome clock radio for your iPod are great. Every detail reflects the hospitality and good humor of the owners, Elizabeth and Elizabeth. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Eating at the large dining table with a diverse group of guests was a great way to learn and share tips about visiting Provincetown. We definitely hope to visit again soon.

Rated 5.0: When my husband and I visited Provincetown in the past, I'd always looked longingly at the signs for inns and guest houses as we drove to the edge of town to the somewhat run-down motel that allows us to bring our dog. When we decided to go back to celebrate our anniversary, I wondered whether it was possible to stay at a nice inn and bring our yellow Lab Jeannie. Happily, it was! I found Gabriel's on-line. It promised rooms with lovely decor, fireplaces, private baths with jacuzzis and other luxuries. And, most importantly, pets were welcome! It was everything we'd hoped for. We loved our stay in the Katherine Hepburn room with fireplace, jacuzzi, kitchenette, television, music system, and a dog-bed for Jeannie! Located in the center of town, we were within walking distance of all our favorite restaurants and galleries and there was a park for Jeannie right next door. Breakfasts at Gabriel's were delicious and we enjoyed conversing with the other guests and our warm, lovely hosts, the two Elizabeths, who made everyone feel welcome and at home.

Rated 5.0: My wife and I were trying to decide what to do for our 25th wedding anniversary when a co-worker suggested whale watching in Cape Cod. We have been on the East Coast for 3 years now after being transferred to Philadelphia from Chicago but had not yet travelled to the New England area so this was a perfect opportunity. Noting that a few whale watching boats depart from Provincetown, MA I decided to find lodging there and used the internet to search. I couldn? believe how many choices there were so I waded through the myriad of sites quickly discovering that most were of the bed and breakfast type which is not usually our choice. One website really had me hooked, www.gabriels.com, and it was a ?ecommended?place to stay according to the Boston Globe article on Gabriel? home page. The reality of staying at Gabriel? far surpasses what the website mentions. Not only does Elizabeth Brooke hold the title of owning the oldest woman owned continuously run inn in the country but she runs one of the finest establishments in the country, period! Late October in Provincetown is beautiful, the town has quieted down from the hectic summer, people are strolling around town and holding hands while the whales are having fun in the Atlantic. It? truly a unique experience and the Elizabeth? make your stay very enjoyable. My bride and I even decided to extend our visit an extra day and since it was mid-week, there was room at the inn! We were lucky, though, as there were many guests coming and going throughout our stay, it may be ?ff-season?in Provincetown but Gabriel? was still busy and have things planned throughout the winter as well. Gabriel? is not your typical bed and breakfast, either. While many B&B? make you feel like you are invading them, Gabriel? is not that way. The Great Room is warm and inviting, separated from where the family lives, with a gorgeous fireplace and kitchen (love the late night fresh baked cookies, by-the-way!). The amenities are also just right with books, board games and videos for one to enjoy should you decide to stay indoors. We particularly liked the private balcony off our room that overlooked the beautiful courtyard area as well as the fireplace and Jacuzzi in our suite. Unlike most hotels that charge you for every little thing, I was impressed that everything is included for you to enjoy and the staff was always attentive to your needs without being in-your-face. That seemed to be the prevailing attitude at Gabriel?, enjoy yourself and relax without worrying about what? going to be added to the bill! And isn? that what vacations are all about? As mentioned, this was the 25th wedding anniversary for my wife, Carol and myself and we plan to return again to this slice of heaven (did I mention that our room was fabulous!). I realized at the start that this was THE place to go when I phoned to make the reservation. I explained that we had never been to Cape Cod and it was a special anniversary, Elizabeth suggested the suite for us and took care of the details. When I set my GPS device to search for Gabriel?, there was only one and I didn? even put in the state! And in my opinion there is only one Gabriel?, we were so impressed with our stay that I had to pen this article to say Thank You Elizabeth? for everything, we look forward to seeing you again soon. Rated 5.0: Staying at Gabriel? at the Ashbrooke Inn was a beautiful experience filled with comfort, friendliness, luxury, and convenience. Greeted by friendly faces, offered home-baked cookies, luscious breakfasts, all with impeccable, genuine hospitality. A sojourn here is a must for anyone interested in experiencing the very best that Provincetown has to offer (even if you never leave your room).

Rated 5.0: From the minute we arrived, we were treated as though we were old friends although it was our first stay. Our room was cozy and comfortable. We made frequent use of the balcony (Quan Yin). We needed peace and quiet and we got what we needed. The bed? What can we say, that was the best weeks sleep we have gotten in a long time (or since for that matter). Breakfast is not your traditional, muffin and donuts and is absolutely delicious. Everyone (all the other guests as well) was so very friendly. The proximity to Commercial Street without actually being ON Commercial Street is a definite plus. We can not wait to come back again.

Rated 5.0: We have just celebrated our seventeenth anniversary, and our twentieth visit to Provincetown - all of them spent at Gabriel's at The Ashbrook Inn. Each year we look forward to see the additions, changes and TLC that go into this home away from home. We are never disappointed. Everyone is made to feel like family - from the personal greetings & tour of the property (and beautiful gardens), to the wonderful daily gathering of people from around the world at the breakfast table in The Great Room, no detail is too small for your comfort. Jacuzzi tubs complete with steam units...Heaven! Each room has its own story to tell, celebrating the life of a spectacular woman. Calling the owners "innkeepers" does not do them justice. Their passion for what they do speaks volumes. Located beneath the tower-the signature landmark of Provincetown, and beside the beautiful Pilgrim Memorial Park, it is convenient to dining, entertainment, shopping, or just plain relaxation. We have already made our plans to come back for next year. As far as we are concerned, there is nowhere else to stay in P-Town!

Rated 5.0: A most beautiful experience does not begin to describe our nine days spent at Gabriels' at the Ashbrooke Inn. Before coming, we looked at the website at least once a week while counting down the days. It is not only informative but so cleverly written that we laughed out loud on several occasions. Upon arrival we were greeted by Elizabeth Ann, one of the owners. This was our fourth time here so she gave us brief tour of the new additions. Our luggage was taken to our room and we soon settled in. We ventured out shortly after explore our surroundings. We found the grounds and gardens to be impeccably kept. We could see much care is given to this part of the property as are the rooms. In our room we found a queen size bed, air conditioner, fridge, microwave, clock radio/cd player, big screen TV with DVD/VCR player. The bathroom was beyond expectations with a double shower head shower/jacuzzi and see thru fireplace. The amenities are more than you could wish for and those, that not even imagined, including a homemade made to order breakfast that rivals any breakfast served in town. Even the smallest attention was paid our wants. I commented one time when I saw a can of V-8 juice , that I drink every morning. Every day there after there was a supply of V-8 juice available.î0D There were always homemade snacks, such as cookies, muffins and croissants everyday all day. Both Elizabeths were always in and out making sure everyone was taken care of, getting to know their guests and even picking up breakfast plates when a guest was finished. The best part of the "Gabriel experience" is meeting people from all over the world, their children and pets. There are some other couples that make a point to come at the same time every year as we do and we have formed friendships that we treasure. The Elizabeths have truly made this a home. Gabriels' is aptly named because these two women exude warmth, charm, love and peace are two of our Angels on earth. We have already booked our 2008 vacation here. You both have a very special place in our hearts. Love, Sheila Arrasmith and Vikki Galante

Rated 5.0: We just spent a few nights at Gabriel's At The Ashbrooke Inn and can not say enough about this Inn. Everything was just perfect. Convenient location, close enough to everything but not too close ,for some quiet time. Beautifully decorated rooms ( love the jacuzzi) and common areas including the wonderful garden areas. Hot cooked breakfast in the morning !! What a great thing ! Also have to mention the delicious cookies. I can not think of one bad thing to say about this fabulous Inn. The owners have taken great care in trying to see that everything you could possibly need or want is available. I only hope I can return for another visit.

Rated 5.0: In all my 30+ years staying in Provincetown, I finally found my dream location, Gabriel? at the Ashbrooke Inn. A beautifully appointed setting, everything is reflective of the owners?good taste, warmth and careful attention to every detail. A home-cooked breakfast with the owners and other successful, interesting and friendly women who stay at Gabriel? is unique. A warm and accepting environment, Gabriel? allows as much privacy or involvement as one chooses. Every guest room is unique in design, themed based on the lives of women of distinction. All rooms are WiFi and there? even a loaner laptop!! I highly recommend Gabriel? for anyone who appreciates elegance.

Rated 5.0: This is our 4th visit to Gabriel's at the Ashbrooke Inn and my only question is, why would anyone stay anywhere else?!? From the fresh baked cookies & hot apple cider left for the guests enjoyment, to lively games in the Great Room with Elizabeth Gabriel herself giving away all the answers! Anyone staying here is welcomed like family. Our dogs lounged downstairs watching all the beautiful improvements being made on Gabriel's newest edition, while we enjoyed a lovely breakfast prepared by the staff. Fantastic rooms, gorgeous garden-sitting area with the Pilgrim monument overlooking it all. I can't say enough about this fantastic inn! I can't wait to come back!!!

Rated 5.0: What good can possibly come from an aching back? For us, our achy backs gave us the incentive to investigate establishments that feature Tempurpedic mattresses. A poor and uncomfortable sleep on a nightly basis leads one to become creative, and in our case desperate. We chose to find an establishment, which could give us the chance to try out the highly recommended Tempurpedic bed before deciding weather or not to make the investment and buy one of our own. Thank God for Google! Using the search engine we were able to find the establishment of Gabriel? Guest Rooms and Apartments in Provincetown MA. At Gabriel? we found much more than a delightfully comfortable and inviting bed, we also discovered a beautiful and welcoming oasis in which we could retreat into a luxurious weekend of pampering and self-indulgence. Upon our after hours?check-in at Gabriel?, we found a welcoming letter taped to the office door. The note directed us through the courtyard garden, which even in the off season of winter retained a natural beauty and serenity, to the French doors leading into the spacious, comfortably decorated common area of the Inn. We knew at once that we had found a place in which we would feel spoiled during our hastily planned weekend away. From the common area we were directed up the stairs to the second floor and to the end of the hall to our room. We were assigned the spectacular comfort of the Quan Yin suite. Stepping through the doorway brought an immediate smile to our faces. The first thing I noticed was the view from our private balcony. The glass of our French doors framed the Pilgrim Monument; its stones illuminated against the dark of the night. It was as if we were looking at a painting or a postcard, only this was real. It is a mesmerizing view! Once we pulled our gaze away from the spectacular scenery outside, we took in the environment that would be our home away from home for the next two days. The Quan Yin suite is furnished with a gas fireplace, a flat screen television, a wet bar and our favorite, a bathroom with a two person Jacuzzi tub and a steam shower. Suddenly the Tempurpedic bed was just a secondary thought. It took us no time at all to fill the tub and relax in a soothing, hot whirlpool. By the time we were finished, our muscles were so relaxed we could literally poor ourselves into the bed. I? here to tell you that the Tempurpedic bed is everything it is said to be. Our usual nights sleep is one of restlessness and discomfort. We normally toss and turn trying to alleviate the pain of our aching backs. That wasn? to be the case this weekend. The Tempurpedic mattress provided us with the comfort we had been longing to experience for many years now. It was a pleasure to lie comfortably in our bed, looking up at the stars through the skylight above us. After a good nights sleep, we woke to a rainy day. Normally this would be a bit of a deterrent on a vacation holiday away. However we had the pleasure of a continental breakfast waiting for us down in the common room of the Inn. While feasting on a delicious and beautifully prepared breakfast, we enjoyed the lively conversation and company of other weekend guests who were lucky enough to find their way to Gabriel?. The dining table which seated strangers before breakfast, seated friends by the time our meal was through. It was during our breakfast that first morning at Gabriel? that we met the innkeepers whom we like to refer to as ?he Elizabeth?? These ladies know how to welcome people, and they create a feeling of effortless hospitality. Full of knowledge of Provincetown and the surrounding areas, they provide wonderful insight to the community they call home. Their effervescent, humor and intellect were a truly refreshing joy to be around. We can? mention the Elizabeth? without mentioning their dog Mr. Pippins who was just as dedicated to making all the guests feel welcome. It has been said that Provincetown in the off-season is not a very exciting place. That may be true in the sense that it is not bustling with crowds of people; but it is by no means a disappointment. Leisurely strolls down the small streets and alleys, even in the mist and rain, provide breathtaking beauty in architecture, landscaping and design. Without the summer crowds, an environment always present but seldom seen takes center stage. It does a soul good to escape to such a place in the winter- time. So, What good can come from an aching back? Let? just say that for the first time we can ever recall, we were thankful for the back pain. Ron & Don Texera Medway, MA. 02053

Rated 5.0: A stay at Gabriel? is a study in thoughtfulness. From the time you make your reservation until the time you check out, your every desire is taken care of. From the extraordinary appointed guest rooms, to the gardens and breakfast, there is an anticipation of your comfort before you even realize it yourself. During our many stays at Gabriel?, we have found the breakfast table a wonderful place to share yesterday? adventures, relax, and enjoy the Elizabeths and other guests. Shopping, restaurants, clubs, and Cape Cod Bay are a short walk away. We can? wait to return for another stay!

It is also wonderful to have it be a kid friendly place too. There is a warm and inviting atmosphere at Gabriel? that makes you feel right at home. We strongly recommend it to all! Cee & Dawn
