Long Bay Hotel Antigua

Rated 5.0: My partner and I chose Long Bay Hotel because of its promise for a week of relaxation and comfort--and did they ever deliver! The people who work there are charming, the food is excellent (menu changes every night, even in the off-season), and the beach is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. We stayed in the View House, a cottage sitting on elevateed ground over the hotel, with a full kitchen that overlooks both the Long Bay and a lagoon. It was very private and had a large deck where we could watch the sunset before going in for dinner. There are lots of things there for the active vacationer -- tennis, snorkeling, windsurfing on site -- but we spent most of our time either on the beach (I read a book a day!) or sightseeing with a terrific local guide, which the hotel set up for us. We had such a great time that we're going back to celebrate our wedding at Long Bay next summer.
