One of the most frustrating aspects of online advertising is spending time and money to get on a search engine or directory, only to be stuck on page 9 or 10. 

• Purchasing a package does not guarantee desired placement - Often times purchasing a package will place you higher, but usually, below others with the same package.

In the past, we listed our members alphabetically. This was great for those whos property started with the letter "A". Unfortunately, this caused some members to change their property names to (Example: "A Beachfront Bed and Breakfast" from "Old World Harbour Inn" or "Vickory Aloha B&B" to "1780 House B&B"). We then decided to try listing by seniority. This wasnt very encouraging to getting new members to join. Last year, we created a 'package system'. This worked well, until we had over 10 members with the top package, and the others, though paying the same, would be on page 2+. It was especially frustrating when a member would call and ask how they could be on top, and having to say "There's nothing I can do".

In addition to placement, accumulating Poinnts will earn you rewards in other places on TheInnkeeper.com.  For example, the more Poinnts you have, the better your chances of being a 'Featured Property' on our state map pages.

In order to make our Poinnts system fair for all of our members, Poinnts are accumulated in several ways:  First, you can earn Poinnts by improving your listing with our additional features, such as 'Room Details' or a 'Photo Gallery'.  Alternatively, you can earn Poinnts by referring a friend or fellow inn to join our site, or by placing a link to our site on yours.  Finally, you may choose to simply purchase additional Poinnts from our Member Center.
